Work With Us In 2022
Each New Year brings fresh ideas, renewed energy, and often times, the desire to take action on those long desired dreams. For some, that includes starting or scaling a business, which will likely require some outside help. Just like with anything else in life, identifying and aligning ourselves with an expert in any given field, will allow us to expedite our success while helping to avoid pitfalls along the way. A business development mentor is no different!
What is Business Development?
Curious what business development is? We have a whole blog post [LINK] dedicated to just that, but we will summarize it here as well. Strategy is how we here at Pennington Perspective define business development. It’s how one is able to confidently reach their desires. Put simply, strategy is a means to accomplishing a goal no matter what it is.
"Our primary focus at Pennington Perspective within business development are business models that meet the needs of customers that have built-in sustainability and scalability."
Where to get a mentor:
So then, how does one go about finding a mentor that aligns well with them? Afterall, the internet is crawling with offers, self-identified gurus, and people trying to sell you things. How do you know when someone is the "real deal?" Here's a few tips:
Check them out on social media, see if they have engagement on their posts, if they openly share about the work they do and if they display testimonials/results. For example, on Alisha's instragram there are highlight bubbles for each of our offers and links to actual people they have served.
Look at their website for further proof of their work. Not everyone you're considering working with will have a website, this should not necessarily be a red flag (in fact, we tell people to not focus on a website until their offers are generating enough income to require it). Regardless, see if they have a services/offers/work with me section that details how they can serve you. Most sales pages should be written to really capture you, for example, click on any of the links inside our Services page to see. Read through their options to see if they fit your need.
Lastly, speak to them. Sometimes they have virtual coffee dates, exploratory calls, sales calls, or just a simple DM available to further discuss the options of working with them. Take advantage of these to see if the person (not just the offer) truly are a good fit. Sometimes lots of different people teach the same subject, so really finding someone you vibe with is important. You truly want to know, like, and trust the person you are learning from.
